Castletown Jets, 41 v   Suntera Global Ballasalla 1, 6

Castletown Cats were up for this game against Suntera Global Ballasalla 1 from the very start. Slick play from attackers Mollie Zybert and Ruby Watterson ensured that the ball went into the circle every time Castletown had possession.  With defensive pressure from Kate Potts and Summer Sadler, that Ballasalla didn’t get on the scoreboard until the second quarter.  In the second half, the Ballasalla defence picked up.  Natalie Howland, at goal keeper, was able to turn over the ball on a number of occasions, but the ball struggled to get through the centre third and Ballasalla were not able to capitalise.  Ballasalla goal Shooter Eleanor Wheeler managed to sink a few more shots, and do so with ease, but Castletown managed to limit her involvement by not letting the play enter that end of the court, and Amy Potts, the Castletown goal shooter, continued with an onslaught of goals. The game finished 41-6 to Castletown, and Players of the Match were Erin Chapple (Castletown) and Rhianna Kinley (Ballasalla).

Manx Gems Crystals, 0 v Route 1 Atoms, 39

It was always going to be a tough game when Manx Gems Crystals only had 6 players against a full Route One team.

Route One claimed the first quarter 19-0 but a re- jig of the Crystals team in the second quarter proved a good move and great defence by GK and GD limited the damage to only 6 goals conceded in the quarter.

Route One created great play in quarter three, with a number of interceptions mid court from their GD, extending the lead by a further 10 goals.

The last quarter again saw dominance from Route One over Manx Gems extending their lead by another 10 goals, winning the match 39-0.

Ramsey Flames, 8 v Manx Gems Amethysts, 16

Manx Gems Amethysts (Sponsored by Island Tyres and Autocare) won first centre in this 1st division under 13 match and were quick to convert their opening centre.

Ramsey responded immediately and it was clear that this was going to be a tightly contested match.

Emilia Lovett (GD) for Amethysts made some fantastic interceptions early on and with Isla Palmer (C) and Erin Bell (WA) they were able to feed the ball successfully up court to the shooters. At the end of the first quarter Amethysts had a slim lead 3-2.

Second quarter both teams had now warmed up and displayed some fantastic netball. Neve Madden (GD) Ramsey made some vital interceptions and denied Amethysts their opportunities. At the other end Molly Bevan (GK) for Amethysts made some important rebounds and going into half time Ramsey had brought the game level.

Second half saw a flurry of goals from Amethysts Georgia Halsall (GA) who linked up well with her shooting partner (GS) Zahara Iqball-Corkill.

Ramsey mid court Imogen Duncan (C) and Holly Slater (WA) battled tirelessly but this quarter saw Amethysts team linking well and passing accurately to their shooters. At the end of the third quarter Amethysts were ahead by 12 goals to 6.

Final quarter saw Ramsey coming back and they scored the first 3 goals of this quarter with Aoibh Nash (GA) making some important shots. Amethysts responded with Erin Kirkwood (WD) intercepting the ball confidently and getting it up court quickly.

Amethysts continued to dominate the final quarter and the game ended 16 goals to 8.

Player of the match for Amethysts Zahara Iqball-Corkill (GS) Neve Madden(GD) for Ramsey.

Castletown Comets, 9 v Simcocks Sea Eagles, 5

The game started with Simcocks Sea Eagles taking an early lead, Molly Reubens (GS) and Ella May (GA) worked well together and built up a 2-nil lead. Castletown Comets kicked into gear with Keira Trustrum (C), Neve Kneen (WA), and Sienna Brookfield (GA) linking well together in the goal third. Brookfield worked well with her shooting counterpart Sadie Corrie (GS) and they soon equalised and overtook Sea Eagles' goals. Tilly Strudwick (GK) and Maisie Belcher-Smith (GD) worked tirelessly to make life difficult in the circle for the Comets' shooting duo. The 1st quarter finished 5-2 in favour of the Comets.

The second quarter started with Comets continuing with their goal scoring form. Solid work from the Comets defence players Poppy Turnbull (GK) and Lexie Fargher (GD) turned the ball over several times to give Comets the edge. Sea Eagles continued to fight for the ball with Daisy Quine (C), Amelie Corlett (WD) working hard to stifle the Comets attack however, with brilliant feeds to the circle from Emily Faragher (WA) and Keira Trustrum (C) the quarter finished 9-3 to the Comets.

The third quarter saw the goal-scoring slow down but certainly not any of the action. Sea Eagles shuffled players around and moved Amelie Corlett to GA, who scored the only goal of the quarter. It was a battle of the defenders in this quarter with Sea Eagles Tilly Strudwick (GK) making interception after interception. She linked well with Heni Cubbon (WD) and Ella May (C) who brought the ball well up the court. The quarter finished 9-4 to Comets.

The final quarter saw the girls starting to tire but they did not give up. Connie Sellors (WD) for Comets worked tirelessly to interrupt the work of Sea Eagles' WA Saffy Edwards.  Sea Eagles swapped around their defensive duo matching Tilly Strudwick (GD) with Comet's Sienna Brookfield (GA). A good match-up between the two players. This quarter was also quiet for goals but both teams worked the ball to the goal circles tirelessly but couldn't sink those goals. The game finished with a win for the Comets and the final score was 9-5.

Player of the match for Castletown Comets was Sienna Brookefield and for Simcocks Sea Eagles Tilly Strudwick took the accolade.
